The Living Map of Knowledge board game and the coloring materials are more than educational resources — they are an invitation to explore the richness of Brazil's Indigenous peoples, guardians of knowledge as ancient as time itself.

Our goal is to strengthen connections, inspire curiosity and encourage every child to recognize, from an early age, that our identity is diverse, vibrant and alive.

Here, every teacher may adapt the materials, every family can participate and every student can discover that learning is also an act of respect and wonder.

May these materials serve not only as educational tools, but also as bridges connecting generations, cultures and worlds that share the same land.

Legal Framework

Law No. 11,645/2008

Makes the teaching of Indigenous and Afro-Brazilian history and culture mandatory in all public and private schools throughout Brazil.

Scope: Elementary and Secondary Education.

Purpose: To promote Brazil's cultural diversity, recognize the importance of Indigenous peoples and Afro-Brazilians in shaping the nation, and combat racism, discrimination and prejudice.

Law No. 10,639/2003

Introduced the mandatory teaching of Afro-Brazilian history and culture into the national curriculum. Law No. 11,645/2008 expanded this requirement to include Indigenous peoples.

Law No. 12,416/2011

Amends Brazil's National Education Guidelines and Framework Law to establish provisions regarding higher education specifically for Indigenous peoples.

Law No. 14,402/2022

Established April 19 as Indigenous Peoples' Day, replacing the former designation "Indian Day".
